This morning my daughter Lea and I drove down to the beach for breakfast at Hotel San Clemente and to look at the “big waves” hitting our beaches from a storm in New Zealand. KFI news announced the waves were supposed to be up to 15’ at the “Wedge” in Newport Beach. But 25 miles to the south in San Clemente the surf was barely 5-7 feet.
NO SUN AT THE BEACH
The month of June provides So Cal inhabitants cool gray foggy mornings and sunny afternoons. My idea of perfect weather. This year what’s referred to as our “June Gloom” is still with us in July. In 2009 the cool gray mornings were gone by the third week in June offering perfect beach weather. Looks like it’s taking a bit longer in 2010.
