Finally got around to updating the Header photo on my blog.  The photo below was cropped and inserted as my new primary blog pic.

Calafia State Park, San Clemente, CA

Orange County has many great beaches and Calafia State Beach is among my favorites.  It is south of the San Clemente main beach (Del Mar at the Pier) and is accessed from the Avenida Califia exit from the I-5 freeway.  It has metered parking and a limited menu walk-up food shack.  Spelling of the street (Ave Califia) is different than spelling of park (Calafia).

I also travel to the Metro Beach at the end of Pico when I’m using the jogging trail along the beach that runs the length of San Clemente.  However, the beach I frequent the most is still the main beach because it’s home to Fisherman’s on the Pier that offers the best place to have a drink and watch the sun set over the ocean.

Below is another view of the Calafia Beach looking south.
