NO FRISBEE, NO FOOTBALL, NO DIGGING IN SAND
The Los Angeles Board of Supervisors on Tuesday (February 7, 2012) agreed to raise fines up to $1,000 for throwing a Frisbee or football on any Los Angeles County beach. The new rules will also cost you if your kid digs a hole deeper than 18 inches in the sand.

WHAT ‘S HAPPENING TO FREEDOM?
I moved to California from the east coast back in the 1970’s in part to live in a culturally and legally less restrictive environment. Back in those “old days” I lived in Marin County and could buy a sandwich & bottle of wine at a Sausalito deli and sit on the rocks overlooking SF Bay sipping my wine without getting ticketed. Same freedom when consuming an adult beverage on the beach.
Looking back I’m amazed at the shift toward laws and fines for just wanting to live life on one’s own terms without some arm of government telling us what we can’t do. I chalk it up to a the combined forces of Nanny State Liberalism, excessive Conservative Homeland Security, cash strapped governments looking for money and too many state & federal workers with two-digit IQ’s harassing the public for sport.
